TGR Foundation Reports (Annual and Impact)

High School Art Competition
After starting Southeastern Louisiana University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, this art competition was the first major event I planned from ideation to execution. Our chapter partnered with the Hammond Downtown Development District, who were preparing for their annual Art in April event and wanted to incorporate youth for the first time. Art in April was designed to celebrate local artist and businesses in Hammond, Louisiana. We infused youth through a two-part art competition inviting budding artists in Hammond and surrounding areas to submit art completed throughout the year and showcase their skills live in the 106 Art Gallery with the opportunity to have their art displayed. The event was a huge success and learning experience, from partnerships to press, public relations and all the components that make up a successful event.
Organization
One of my most proud accomplishments was starting a chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America at my alma mater Southeastern Louisiana University. It was a two-part process that I led to become a recognized student organization on campus and then earn a charter from the national organization. It was very rewarding to see my hard work pay off from drafting applications and organizational processes to recruiting students, a faculty advisor and a professional advisor.
